Youth Committee
YAC is committed to the personal, professional, social, cultural and economic development of African/Caribbean Canadian youth and young adults. We aspire to encourage individuals to maximize their potential and prepare for future challenges, while educating them to become socially and culturally responsible Canadians.

Education and Cultural Committee
The Education and Cultural Committee provides educational and cultural programs/activities for the Association’s members and the wider community. It is also responsible for promoting educational/cultural exchanges, seminars, exhibitions, debates, and for the acquisition and distribution of culturally educational books and other materials related to the heritage of members through the Marcus Garvey Resource Center.

Women’s Committee
The Women’s Committee of the Jamaican Canadian Association (JCA) works to advance women’s full participation and equality in all aspects of the JCA and the wider community, including decision-making and leadership roles.

Fundraising Committee
Develops the long-term and short-term fundraising strategies of the Association to ensure and maintain financial viability.

Public Relations Committee
The Public Relations Committee serves as the organization’s internal and external communications unit. PR is defined as “the management function that establishes and maintains mutually beneficial working relationships between an organization and the publics on whom its successes or future depend.” Public Relations encompasses media relations, publicity advertising, editorial services/public relations, community relations and special events as well as planning/management.

Membership Services Committee
The membership of the Jamaican Association is comprised of two groups of individuals. Some are listed on our membership list and some from time to time access the many events, benefits and services that the JCA offer. We invite you to learn more about us.

Building Committee
In conjunction with the Executive Director, the Building Committee assumes overall responsibility for supervising the maintenance and operation of the building and contents acquired for the use of the Association. Advise the Board concerning the acquisition, disposition, rental, sale, or purchase of any real property.
